BIOGRAPHY
LAURA YOUNG is a video editor specializing in live performance, plays, operas, theatrical events and documentaries.
After finishing her degree at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, she began her television career working on the WNET series Dance in America. She has been a freelance editor for over two decades and has been nominated for a Daytime and two Primetime Emmy Awards.
Laura has been editing for Great Performances at the Met since 2006 completing 129 operas for broadcast along with editing plays for Broadway HD and WNET/Theatre Close up.
She was inspired to get into the business by her mother, JoAnn Young who has been producing PBS programming for over 40 years. They have created many documentaries and concerts together.
In her spare time, she loves blue water sailing, traveling to exotic uninhabited places and spending time with her husband, large extended family and two grandsons.
